Interest Rates - the question remains

Over recent months there has been an uneasy feeling around interest rates with constant media commentary centred around the increasing floating rate and the likely impact on home loan affordability. Then with a real surprise KiwiBank lead a reduction in the 2 & 3 year fixed rates to a low 6.95% & 7.25% respectively. This has encouraged the other major banks to follow suit, creating a media storm around the rate changes.

What will this mean?

We have already seen a number of clients who have been enjoying the low floating rates, deciding to take a 2 or 3 year fixed option to give them certainty over repayments. But remember this is not an exact science and it is important to look at your individual situation and see how rates will affect your household budget.

Right now is an ideal time to look at your situation in some detail to ensure you have a good plan and structure for your loan for the next few years ahead. Please call the team at Taupo Home Loans to discuss your specific needs to work out what is best for you.

Protect your family for the price of a cup of coffee a day!

As part of our Home Loan Service to you, Taupo Home Loans is now able to offer a range of personal risk products designed to protect you and your family’s financial wellbeing in times of sickness or disability or worse, premature death.

We all know that buying a home is a major milestone in your life but have you ever thought how you would continue to afford your loan repayments if you were too sick or disabled to be able to work.

Would you have enough money in reserve to meet your home loan repayments if your income stopped due to you being too sick to work for 3 months or more?

If you were to die prematurely would you leave behind enough resources to pay off your home loan to provide security for your surviving partner and dependants?

What if you were to be made redundant - would you lose your home?

We at Taupo Home Loans are able to provide you with a range of benefits that include Life Insurance, Loan Repayment and Redundancy Insurance that will protect your family’s financial future. Some of these benefits can cost less than the price of a cup of coffee a day.

Are you struggling to meet your home loan payments?

There are times when your personal circumstances change or you may experience difficulty meeting your home loan or debt committments.

This may be because of:

• Injury or illness
